The new me

Several days late on the posting

Wednesday

weight 185
run 15 minutes
strength 30 minutes
abs/stretch 15 min

50 PU

Thursday
weight 184
Run 2 miles time 15:42 level 0
strength 30
abs/stretch 15min
50 PU

So I'm thinking of retooling my running program. Going to try increasing cadence, stride length and smooth form. Run for time once or twice a week then longer runs on other days...hence my 2 mile run on the treadmill today. We'll see how it goes.

Sounds like you have a good plan. How will the increased cadence coupled with the stride length exacerbate your existing ratio issues. Will the ratio be the numerical inverse of your current ratio in order to generate mathematical equality. Will the cadence option be limited by your inability to count to ten? Just have ratio concerns, that's all. Guess who came up with this comment?

You people need to show more compassion towards those of us with ratio issues. Sure, it's easy to sit by smugly in the knowledge that you have ratio harmony. But those of us who are ratio less advantaged are people...with real feelings. And remember, those things in life which provide the most rewards require the most effort. Through will and determination the ratio less advantaged will achieve greater heights...in no small part due to the fact that we have to work harder to get to the same place...which requires us to be better athletes. Have I mentioned that before?? I don't recall.

I don't know if you want outside input to help with your ratio's.

Change one thing at a time. Work on it for a least 7 runs then try someting new.

Cadence - The professionals use an 80 to 90 rpm as a guide.

Stride Length - This should be comfortable to you. Overstriding will slow you down.

Good luck.

I think that someone on this blog has the wrong idea about ratio issues (Scott). The ratio of torso to leg length is no where near as much of a handicap as the ratio of girth to height. Now there is an issue to overcome. Let's show compassion for the newest and roundest member of the blog.
