Philadelphia 10,000
So it's not the Austin Capitol 10,000, but I couldn't let you guys be the only ones running a 10k this morning. I took myself and the gazillion hoagies I've eaten this week on a 10k around Philly this morning! Not gonna lie - it was kinda sad to do it without all of you!
Best of luck on Sunday morning! I'll be thinking of you!!!

Good Morning!

Went skiing on March 13, 14, 15, 16. 4 days of glorious weather and awesome skiing. 2 tumbles and one hyper-extended knee (on the 1st day and that's a 1st for me). Of course, couldn't help myself but to keep skiing with the knees nice and bent. Scott says could take a month to heal completely...bummer! Just have to do a few "work arounds!" Did 70 minute spin class this a.m.

One more in a Row!
Three in a row. At the airport now waiting on a flight to city number three, Minneapolis but with three runs already completed. Don't know how far this morning but ran for 30 minutes. Love running in DC even if it was so early that it was still late for some people. Scott, Tuesday afternoon and I have three runs in a row heading for the Capitol 10k. Consider yourself called out. Exercise and then post about it, PAL!!!

Two for Two
Boston in the morning and DC in the evening. But still ran today, for two in a row. We won't talk about distances or times but I ran. Let's just leave it at that. Lookout monuments in the morning. Going for three monuments, zero stopping and three for three!

Day One on the Road
Way to go Maureen! You rock! Did you drink beer before, after, or during the St. Patrick's day race? Or all of the above? Nicely done. The best I could muster was a 4 miler on the treadmill at the hotel in Boston. Won't say my time, cause none of us want to get bogged down in too much detail. Besides, what's in a number. Forget it! Oh, by the way, are there any good sections in Boston? I drove around for a while, went by a mall, stopped at a train track, saw some drug deals, you know, normal Sunday afternoon in the north east. Anyway, didn't know if there were some other places in Boston that I should visit. 6 cities in 5 days, workout number one in the books. 4 miles, 90 push ups! I ain't stoppin'!!!
St. Patrick's Day 8K

Ran in DC's St. Patrick's Day 8k this morning! Should have been a piece of cake, but it was really rough! Not sure if that was because it was cold and rainy, or because I was still beat from a "boot camp" class I took at the gym on Friday, or maybe I just had one too many glasses of wine last night!
Which is the exact reason why I signed up for the race. I wanted to get those miles in, and just wasn't feeling like I could do it on my own! Nothing like 5,000 other runners to motivate you!
Look Out!
Okay! Be warned! I am on the road. 6 cities in 5 days this week! But I am gonna out work out all of you 'ne're do wells'!!! Run or work out in some fashion, every day. A new city every day. And a new post every day. So Look Out!

OK...
To Keith
FACT- you did remind me about the Habitat for humanity run
FACT- you reminded me at 10:00pm the night before the race...after I had consumed a nice bottle of Chianti...while we were listening to a Shock of Pleasure at the Mansion on Turtle Creek and I was drinking a couple of Vodka's...thanks for paying btw.
FACT- actually, it wouldn't have made a difference anyway. Due to my current level of fitness, I now have old ladies offering to help me up the stairs at church.
To Maureen
Please forgive me for allowing the community blog to turn into a dialogue only with a coworker Let's be honest here. Keith only has about six jokes... and they are better shared with a group!
Thanks for keeping the blog going...
To Barbara
I will rededicate my efforts to morph my belly from a soft fluffy pillow into the hard washboard abs you deserve.
To All
looking forward to seeing everyone in Austin for the Capitol 10K!!

Slacker
Well, is it possible I haven't been on this blog since February 13th??!!! Ouch, very, very ouch. The Capitol 10k is looming......oh my!!!! Anyway, I've worked out a couple of times this week (not today) and WILL work out again tomorrow. For this week I did a spin class for 50 min, elliptical for 20 min, treadmill 10 min, upper weights 15 minutes, and flexibility for 20 min. Great work Maureen and Keith on the workouts!
Diving In

Ok! Big night for me tonight! The first official night at the new gym, and a plan to swim in the never-ending pool! (Of course, first I have to finish work to actually get to the gym, and the amount of work I've got ahead of me this afternoon, it doesn't look very promising!)
I've been hyping up this pool for months now, and I hope I don't sink! I hope I can figure out the controls on the water - as my husband so supportively said this morning: "you know you're going to get in there, set the water pressure too soft, and then hit your head against the wall."
Haha! It just might happen!
I just hope I can keep my head above water!
Push Ups
Good Morning! Haven't run yet today, but it is on my list. Have a 100 push ups done so far today. Still hoping noone walks into my office while I am doing push ups on the floor. Guess I can say, "Stress Reduction" since saying "I gotta have something to post since I am not running" won't really make sense to anyone. So here is my cop out post. I did some push ups, that's it. Dang it!

The Winner is ........
Okay, I am back. Scott threatened me not to call him out regarding old habits from days gone by so I am cowering to his greatness and succumbing to his superior knowledge and athletic ability. Mostly humbled by the fact that most of the stories that I was gonna call him out on included me as well. So, let's not talk about those too much.
Back to the blog. Did the Habitat for Humanity run on Saturday. This is the one that Scott ran with me last year, but I think he may have forgotten this year. I should have reminded him. Oh yeah, I did! Ooooops!
Anyway, I won the race. My first win of a major competition. True it was a walk-a-thon and I was actually the only person running, but that doesn't change the fact that I was first to finish and got to break through the finish line tape. Oh yeah, there was no tape but I got the loudest yells from the crowd waiting at the finish line. Oh yeah, there wasn't anybody at the finish line since everyone was still walking. Okay, maybe I have said enough about my big win. Still finished the five miles in 42:36 so I was happy.
